No Perfume.
No Gum
No Hair or Body Glitter
No Baby Oil on Legs – Makes your legs look big and gets on your swimsuit
Natural length nails. French, American manicure or just natural.
Practice Smiling. Try smiling at yourself in a mirror for one full minute. Does your smile look natural and not forced. Use Vaseline on your teeth to keep your lips from sticking to your teeth. Remember to breathe through your smile.
Practice Posing in front of a full length mirror. Your body should make an “S” curve. Keep your head straight and do not tilt it to one side.
Do NOT wear a watch during the on-stage pageant competition but DO wear your wedding rings. Do not leave your watch in the dressing room.
Make a “Pageant Day” Kit with safety pins, small sewing kit, headache and nausea medicine, personal feminine hygiene items, etc.
Don’t lock your knees on stage. You will pass out!
Tanning – If you plan to tan, spray tan or use a self tanning product practice well in advance of the pageant. Do not tan your face just adjust your makeup.
A fast set of leg squats, in your heels, just before you go onstage for swimsuit competition will firm up your muscles.
WHEN YOU ARE ON STAGE
Don’t look at the floor or ceiling
Don’t walk too fast or too slow
Look natural and confident
Swing your arms in a natural manner
Don’t hold your gown
Make eye contact with the judges
Be aware of your posture and stand straight the entire time you are on stage…….even if you are lined up waiting your turn to compete
Don’t sway from side to side while standing on stage
Be observant and watch your spacing as you walk so you do not step on the gown of the contestant in front of you.
Always SMILE but look natural and pleasant doing so
