Hair-Makeup-Eyelashes

All contestants are required to style their own hair and apply their own make-up at the pageant.  In NO case will personal hair stylists or make-up artists be allowed backstage. NO exceptions will be made.  (The outgoing titleholder is not allowed to have a personal stylist or make up artist.)

FYI
Some contestants make a morning appointment with their make-up artist and arrive with hair and make-up ready for the afternoon Interview.  They adjust and intensify the make-up for stage competition after Interview.  Remember, there is a difference between Interview and Stage Makeup.

INTERVIEW MAKEUP
Interview Makeup should be more natural because you will be seated very close to the judge. Keep it real and natural.

STAGE MAKEUP
Stage makeup needs to be heavier because of the bright stage lights. Visit your makeup counter and ask them to create a look for you for stage lighting.

FALSE EYELASHES
Most contestants wear false eyelashes on stage. They really open up your eyes. False eyelashes need not be expensive. Buy a pair at the local drugstore and practice applying them before the pageant.  If you wear them for interview choose lashes that  appear natural and change to a more dramatic pair for on-stage competition.

HAIR
Your hair is your Crowning Glory and can make or break your appearance. It should look fresh, clean, shiny and healthy. Your hair should not cover your face. Keep your face visible from all angles.

HAIR UP OR DOWN?
Most contestants wear their hair down for the Swimsuit Competition.  The style of the Evening Gown should determine your hairstyle for the Evening Gown Competition.
